Graphic Novels

Graphic Novels   Graphic Novels are long comic book type stories, which include pictures, dialogue and some descriptions. They are written for all age ranges, from young children to adults, and include genre from fantasy, and action to biography, non-fiction, and classic books.      Two terms that are related to the Japanese Graphic Novel industry are Manga and Anime.

    Manga refers to a popular type of “Japanese print comics, characterized by exaggerated eyes, simplified     features, & simple outlines.”

    Anime refers to a “Japanese animated films, often related to manga. The two art forms feed off of each other”.

No flying, no tights  Graphic novel reviews for kids (sidekicks section), teens (no flying, no tights) and adults (the lair). A great place to start when choosing titles. Includes core lists by genre and age group, information about reading, creating comics, parent/teacher help, and links
